Xichong Pepper Planting Area--Sichuan

Xichong, located in Sichuan Province, is one of the largest pepper-producing areas in China,and famous with the title of  "Hometown of Chinese Pepper" Pepper is one of the major traditional economic crops in Xichong, and is the central industry for increasing agricultural output, enriching the farmers, enhancing business efficiency, etc.

In Xichong, there has a pepper planting area of 100,000 mu, with a total output 150,000 tons of fresh peppers, and the output value is RMB 210 million yuan. Xichong pepper has many good characters such as thin skin,thick flesh, bright color, fewer seeds, high oil and high nutrition, with which Xichong pepper became to be the main seasoning of Pixian bean sauce, and Chongqing hotpot, now, Xichong has developed into the largest supply base of high-quality pepper products and raw materials.

At present, Xichong set up a "North Sichuan pepper wholesale market", in which the  annual fresh pepper trade is 35,000 tons, at the same time, Xichong cooperates with pepper processing and sales companies of Chengdu, Chongqing, Hechuan, Yongchuan, Fuling, Quxian, Pi County and other cities, to produce pepper products according to contracts and orders.
