Dingtao Mushroom Cultivating Area--Shandong

Dingtao County, Shandong Province is a national Agaricus bisporus producing area. In 2003, the whole county developed 3 million square meters for Agaricus bisporus production, produced 45000 tons of Agaricus bisporus.

It also developed 4000 tons of Pleurotus ostreatus and Lentinula edodes, etc. substrate and produced 4500 tons of mushroom, with a mushroom output value of 260 million RMB yuan, and an increase of agricultural output value of 180 million RMB yuan.

There are over 3000 small-scale rural households who take part in mushroom production. The development of mushroom industry has also promoted over 30000 people of the whole county engaged in mushroom production and other related industries.

The development of mushroom industry has also promoted the development of related industries, such as purchasing processing enterprises,  rural  economic  cooperative  organizations,  machine  manufacture mushroom culture, mushroom culture fertilizer as well as material supply sectors.
