Xuancheng Chicken Raising Area--Anhui

Xuancheng, located in southeast Anhui Province, is the largest breeder and commodity chicken production base in east China. In 2008, Xuancheng raised  210 million chickens, accounts for one fifth of Anhui province's output, the annual output value is RMB 5 billion yuan; large-scale breeding accounts for more than 90% of the total chicken breeding, and accounts for one third of the province's large-scale breeding. The scale of supplying breeder breeding and chick breeding ranks first in Anhui province, the number of breeder reaches 5 million sets, and providing 750 million chicks every year. Live chicken and chicken products are mainly sold to Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and other provinces and cities, and has already established a stable marketing and sales network in east China, especially in the Yangtze River Delta region, more than 85% of chicken and chicken products are sold in this area.

The scale of Xuancheng chicken breeding industry remains to be improved. So far, Xuancheng doesn't have one listed company engaged in chicken breeding, within 3737 large-scale chicken breeding farms, there have only 298 farms reach the breeding size of 50,000 to 100,000 chickens, 49 farms reach the breeding size of over 100,000 chickens, respectively account for 7.97 % and 1.32% of large-scale chicken breeding. Some small-scale chicken breeding farms are equipped with poor facilities, weak vaccination system and technique,so Xuancheng needs a powerful leading company in chicken breeding industry.
