Shangyu South America White Prawn Breeding Area--Zhejiang

Shangyu City, Located in Zhejiang Province, in 2001, since the success of attempting to raise South America prawn, through the big development in recent years, the prawn breeding industry has been the most advantageous industry among the aquaculture industry even the whole agriculture industry of Shangyu city.

In 2007, in Shangyu city, the total prawn output reached 22,500 tons, production value was RMB 420 million yuan, respectively, accounting for 59% of total aquatic product output value, and 15% of the city's total agricultural output value. In 2008, the breeding area expanded to 65,000 mu, the output reached 30,000 tons, with the production value more than RMB 500 million yuan.
