Sebei gas field, located in western Qinghai Province, is the fourth largest gas field in China, and is the largest biogas accumulation found in China and many reservoirs and seal rocks superposed on a syndepositional anticline in Quaternary. At present, Sebei Gas Field has formed a production capacity of over 1.0 billion [m.sup3]/a natural gas.
The development of Sebei-1 Gas Field began in 1995. In 2002, 90.18 billion cubic meters was newly added to Sebei Gas Field's proven natural gas in place, bringing the cumulative total to 181.7 billion cubic meters. In 2005, Sebei Gas Field had more than 130 gas producing wells, with a daily output of more than 6 million cubic meters. An annual production capacity of 2.4 billion cubic meters had been built. In 2006, the construction of Sebei-2 Gas Field well network was completed, with four gas gathering stations and one master station with a daily processing capacity of 1.85 million cubic meters.
Sebei Gas Field currently has an annual production capacity of 4 billion cubic meters, producing more than 10 million cubic meters natural gas every day.
