(Inner Mongolia) Huolinhe Coalfield

1. General situation
Huolinhe coalfield is located in Zhanute banner of Zhe li mu Meng league of Inner Mongolia, Its trend is 60 km long and 8~10 km wide, area is 540 sq-km. Length of railway from Tong liao to this area is approximate 417 km, length o road is 324km.

This area is located in west slope in south section of Great Xingan Mountains, elevation is 870~940 meters, the highest point is up to 1316 meters. Northeast section in this area is low mountains and hills; southwest section is intermontane plain. Huo Ling River, which is derive from north piedmont of Han shan mountain in east section of this area is passing through southeast edge of this coalfield, maximum flow capacity is 1 cu-m/s.

2. Coal resources

The recoverable reserves of coal thereof are 13.1 billion tons. All of coal reserves thereof are basically occupied by Huo ling he mining bureau except 20 million tons coal thereof which have been occupied by local government owned coalmines. 1.18 billion tons of coal reserves are available for exploitation by coal mining bureau, and only 150 thousand tons of coal reserves are available for exploitation by county owned coalmines.

Coal bearing strata are existing in upper Jurassic, Huo ling he group, and have upper and lower coal bearing in 2 sections, there is unavailable for exploitation in upper coal section, 24~27 coal bearing seams are existing in lower coal section, 8~13 coal seams thereof are available or partial available for exploitation, and three coal seams thereof including No.14, 17 and 21 are much thick and stable for exploitation, and they are mainly exploited. Coal type & bran name is belonged to medium-ash and low-sulfur, calorific value is 28~30MJ/kg.

3. Operating coal mine/exploiting coalfield

2 operating coalmines are belonged to Huo lin he mining bureau, only 1 coalmine is belonged to county owned, 10 coalmines for other owned system, annual output is up to 5 million tons (generally produced by Huo ling he mining bureau.
