A modern and comprehensive market built by the side of the Temple of Heaven, covering more than 30000 square meters and deals in products of more than 10000 brands of 13 categories where you can enjoy shopping, travel and leisure, a "business bridge" in diplomatic relations which is called "pearl market" by foreign friends.
The Pearl Market is a four-storey building, with small stalls with individual proprietors on the first few floors and full-sized Western-style stores on the top floor. Lower quality pearls and jewellery are sold from small stalls on the third floor. Exclusive pearl stores are on the fourth floor.
HongQiao Pearl Market is a market popular with both Chinese and international visitors from all the corners of the world. All shopkeepers speak English. Those on the first three floors tend to be quite persistent, whilst those on the top two floors are significantly less intrusive. The asking prices are often quite high so it is important to haggle.
