The Xiqinggangping Gold belt is located in the Xiqinggangping Mining Zone of Luoning County in the Henan province of China, where there are hundreds of small to medium sized operating Gold and Silver Mines. The Xiaoqinling Region is an Orogenic belt that has been China's second most productive area in gold and third most productive area in silver since 1976, when records were first maintained.
This region has recently been opened up to foreign companies for joint venture. Canadian mining companies, Silvercorp Metals Inc. and VVC Exploration Corp. are also positioned in the Xiaoqinling Region, where Silvercorp Metals Inc. is working to confirm that their Ying Silver Mine is a world class silver deposit and VVC Exploration Corp. has acquired several operating gold mines in the Tonggang County. Also, Lingbao Gold, which is a China state owned gold mining company in Lingbao County (located next to Luoning County), recently completed an IPO offering on January 12, 2006 on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange raising US$110 million.
