China is rich in glass silica material resource and mainly including mines of glass quartzite, quartz sandstone, quartz sand and vein quartz, etc. There are 189 mine areas in 26 provinces (areas) in China and total reserves reaches to 3.8 billion tons.
In view of area distribution, the most glass use quartzite reserves are in Qinghai which occupied 42.4% of whole country reserves. Hainan has the most of quartzite and Shandong has the most of quartz sandstone.
The main glass silica mine fields are Qinghai Datong, Hebei Luan County Leizhuang, Nei Menggu Gan Zuka, Liaoning Benxi, Henan Yingchi, Fujian Dongshan, Guangxi Beihai, Hainan Wenchnag. Most of genetic types of mineral deposit are metamorphosed sedimentary quartzite stone, sedimentary quartz sandstone and marine deposit quartz sand, hydrothermal fluid vein quartz is not important. Glass silica material mineragenetic epoch is from Archean to Cainozoic era.
