Laixi Peanut Planting Area--Qingdao, Shandong

Laixi City is located at the center of the beautiful and rich Shandong Peninsula. It is one of the first open coastal cities approved by the State Council and one of the top 100 strong counties in terms of comprehensive production capabilities. The only peanut studying institute in China--Shandong Peanut Studying Institute, is right in Laixi City. The peanut here is resourceful and of fine quality, and  the annual volume of peanuts processed and exported totals 150000 tons, which ranks first all over the country.
In Laixi, the total peanut planting area is 330,000 mu, the total annual output is 110,000 tons, peanut planting area and output ranks fourth, and the output per capita ranks first in China; Laixi has more than 300 peanut processing enterprises with annual processing capacity of 150,000 tons, export 250,000 tons, earning 60 million U.S. dollars, ranking first in the country.
