Bozhou Mengcheng Beef Cattle Breeding Area--Anhui

Bozhou is the largest cattle production area in China. In Bozhou, three areas such as Mengcheng, Lixin and Guoyang have been awarded “National Model County for Cattle-Production by Straw-Feeding” -- one of the ten in China -- by the Ministry of Agriculture for five successive years. In 2002, the cattle population of the whole city reached 1,500,000. The number of companies in the city engaged in cattle-slaughtering and processing is nearly 100. Guoyang Yumei Corp Group, Mengcheng Dongsheng Food Company Ltd., and Lixin Lida Company, have the productive capacity of 600,000 cattle slaughtered a year. Mengcheng Wuzhou Food Company Ltd., Lixin Hongfa Beef Company Ltd., and Qiaocheng Zhengyi Beef Company Ltd., process super quality and various small packages of beef -- totaling about 45,000 tons each year. The leather-making companies as Lixin Lvji Leather Factory, Anhui Niupiwang Fashion Company and Shengli Leather Company can produce 1,000,000 finished leather sheets and 600,000 leather products.

Mengcheng County is the No.1 cattle-breeding county in China. Its advanced cattle-breeding industry lays an important basis for the comprehensive development of its beef products.
