A large offshore oil field, it has a proven reserve being 300 million tons. The field was put into operation in 1995. The Chengbei Oil Field is in the southwest part of the Bohai Sea. Put into operation in 1986, it is the first Chinese-Japanese joint venture in this regard. The Qinhuangdao 32-6 Oil Field is situated in the central part of the Bohai Sea. Found in 1995, it has a proven reserve of 200 million tons.
