R&D hub to boost Axalta

AXALTA, a US supplier of liquid and powder coatings, will tap its research and development center to help the company expand in Asia Pacific and globally.

Its 15,500 square meter Asia-Pacific Technology Center is one of the company’s four research and development centers globally and boasts a refinish training center for car manufacturers, a global color development center and laboratories dedicated to research and development of coatings. The center aims to facilitate coating needs of light vehicles, commercial vehicles and industrial products.

“The R&D center will support Axalta’s business in Asia Pacific and global markets,” said CEO Charles W. Shaver.

“The center is also our commitment to further enhance our R&D strength here in Shanghai.”
