Porsche banks on young

PORSCHE sees Chinese customers of its luxury sedans to be younger than those in the western markets.

Chinese customers for the Porsche four-door sedan Panamera model average 36 years old, while their counterparts in the US and UK tend to be 52 to 53 years old, the German carmaker said.

As Porsche’s largest single market, the carmaker has brought in 13 models to cater to the diversified demands of Chinese consumers.

Porsche’s sales in China totaled around 23,000 units in the first four months of the year, an increase of 13 percent year on year.
