Guotai Junan net profits surge in 2019

Guotai Junan Securities Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese securities broker, reported a 28.76 percent rise in net profits in 2019.

The company's net profits attributable to shareholders totaled 8.64 billion yuan (1.24 billion U.S. dollars), it said in its 2019 financial report filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Its revenue rose 31.83 percent year on year to 29.95 billion yuan, the company said.

China's securities sector saw a robust performance in 2019 amid gains in major stock indices, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 22.3 percent last year.
