U.S. crude oil production increases last week

U.S. crude oil production increased slightly during the week ending Dec. 20, U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Friday.

According to the EIA, U.S. crude oil production averaged 12.9 million barrels per day (b/d) last week, up by 100,000 b/d from the previous week and up by about 1.2 million b/d year-on-year.

In its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook released earlier this month, the EIA forecast that U.S. crude oil production will average 13.2 million barrels per day in 2020, an increase of 0.9 million barrels per day from the 2019 level.
