China's coal output up 4.9 pct in Jan.-July

China's raw coal output climbed 4.9 percent year on year to 2.26 billion tonnes in the first seven months of the year, official data showed.
The volume rose 4.8 percent from the level in the same period of 2019, putting the average Jan.-July growth of the past two years at 2.4 percent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
From January to July, the country imported roughly 169.74 million tonnes of coal, shrinking 15 percent year on year.
In July alone, China's coal output reached 310 million tonnes, a decline of 3.3 percent from a year ago, the NBS said.
