Anting taps intelligence

ANTING Town government and Tongji University will establish and develop an intelligent industrial zone located around the university in Shanghai’s outlying Jiading District.

The Tongji University Ring Intelligent Industry City consists of two parts — a high-tech industrial zone and a modern living zone.

“The Tongji University Ring Intelligent Industry City will focus on industrial transformation and upgrading” of industries, Dong Aihua, head of Anting, said yesterday.

Four industries are targeted in the zone — new-energy and smart vehicle, smart manufacturing, auto services and information technology.

The town government is set to invest 100 million yuan (US$14.5 million) in the zone.

By the end of 2019, the economic output of the zone is expected to reach 30-50 billion yuan, according to the town government.
