Beiqi Foton Motor NEV sales surge 141 pct in H1

Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., a Beijing-based leading new energy vehicles (NEV) manufacturer, reported its NEV sales soared by 141 percent year-on-year in the first half of the year as the market boom continued.
In a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the company said its auto sales rose 3.76 percent year on year to 272,261 units during the period, with the NEV sales totaling 3,530.
Car production of the company also increased, with a total of 271,862 units produced in H1, up 3.26 percent from a year ago.
The NEV market in China posted vigorous growth amid a sluggish broader automobile sector in recent months.
About 464,500 NEV cars were sold in the first five months, surging by 41.5 percent from the same period a year earlier, while the production expanded 46 percent year on year to 479,800 units.
