Dollar in lower 106 yen range on heightened global outlook concerns

The U.S. dollar remained pressured in the lower 106 yen zone in Tokyo on Thursday, owing to heightened concerns over the outlook for the global economy.
The dollar was quoted at 106.10-11 yen at 5 p.m. local time compared with 106.21-31 yen in New York and 106.29-30 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo.
During the day, it tracked between 106.00 yen and 106.32 yen, trading most often at the 106.11 yen mark.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1216-1218 dollars and 119.00-04 yen against 1.1194-1204 dollars and 118.95-119.05 yen in New York and 1.1189-1190 dollars and 118.93-97 yen in late Wednesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
