Indian company wins contract to develop freight facilities in UAE

Indian engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Limited has been awarded a large contract for developing freight facilities at seven strategic locations for Etihad Rail Network Stage-2 across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a company statement said on Tuesday.

The contract is worth 350-700 million U.S. dollars.

The contract was awarded by an UAE company, Etihad Rail Company PJSC, which manages the national freight and passenger railway network.

This project will be executed in Joint Venture with Power China, the Chinese government owned power construction company, the statement said.
