China continues to lead wearable band shipments in Q3

China continued to lead the world in wearable band shipments in the third quarter (Q3) of this year, industrial data showed.

China remained the largest producer of wearable smart devices by contributing 40 percent to worldwide shipment, which totaled 45.5 million units in Q3, according to a report by global market research firm Canalys.

The country's Q3 wearable band shipments surged 60 percent year on year.

Chinese tech firms Xiaomi and Huawei made it into the global top three shipping firms thanks to strong domestic performances during the period, Canalys data showed.
