Singapore Economic Development Board announced on Wednesday that the city-state's manufacturing output grew by 3.3 percent year on year in August, compared to the revised 6.7 percent increase in July.
This is the third consecutive month for Singapore to see its manufacturing output growth going down. The figure grew to 13 percent in May, but began to fall when it reached 8.1 percent in June.
Excluding biomedical manufacturing, Singapore's manufacturing output grew 3 percent year on year in August, compared to the 5.8 percent in July.
In the first eight months, Singapore's manufacturing output grew 9.2 percent year on year. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, it grew 9.5 percent year on year.
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, Singapore's manufacturing output fell 2 percent in August. Excluding biomedical manufacturing, output fell 3.4 percent.
