China's property developer Vanke sees contracted sales up 9.6 pct in H1

China Vanke Co. Ltd., a leading property developer, reported its contracted sales amounted to 334 billion yuan (48.69 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half year, up 9.6 percent from the same period last year.
From January to June, the company achieved a total contracted sales area of 21.5 million square meters, up 5.6 percent year on year, according to a statement issued by the company Tuesday evening.
In June, the company realized a contracted sales area of 4.89 million square meters, with a contracted sales amount of 66.39 billion yuan.
Shares of the company opened at 28.71 yuan Wednesday morning.
