U.S. crude oil production up 20.8 pct in September

U.S. crude oil production in September increased 20.8 percent from the same month in 2017, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Friday.
According to the EIA's monthly report of crude oil and natural gas production, U.S. crude oil production in September reached 11.48 million barrels per day, up 1.1 percent from August.
The State of Texas is still the largest producer of crude oil in the United States, producing 4.69 million barrels per day, up 2.3 percent from the previous month, and up 33.1 percent year-on-year.
The output of crude oil from the Federal Offshore Gulf of Mexico in September was 1.78 million barrels per day, down 7.6 percent from the previous month, but still up 5.2 percent year-on-year.
The EIA's report also showed that U.S. natural gas gross withdrawals in September reached 104.46 billion cubic feet (1 billion cubic feet is about 28.32 million cubic meters) per day, up 1.8 percent from the August and up 13.2 percent year-on-year.
U.S. production of crude oil and natural gas is expected to hit record level in 2018 after it reached the highest level in 2017.
The EIA reported on Thursday that U.S. crude oil production reached 3,413 million barrels in 2017, an increase of 6 percent from 2016, and its marketed natural gas production was 29.2 trillion cubic feet in 2017, an increase of 3 percent from 2016.
