China Vanke sales up 15 pct in August

China Vanke Co. Ltd., a leading property developer, reported its contracted sales amounted to 44.13 billion yuan (6 billion U.S. dollars) in August, up 15.1 percent year on year.
In August, the company realized a contracted sales area of 2.77 million square meters, according to a statement issued by the company Tuesday evening.
From January to August, the company achieved a total contracted sales area of 27.4 million square meters.
The contracted sales reached 426.3 billion yuan in the first eight months, up 9.84 percent year on year.
Shares of the company opened at 25.83 yuan Wednesday morning.
