Nokia eyes to ‘revitalize’ brand in China

NOKIA aims to “revitalize” brand and sales in China with the new Nokia 7 phone that targets fashionable consumers, the company said in Shanghai yesterday.

The Nokia 7, featuring a Zeiss camera, will start selling next week from 2,499 yuan (US$379).

Finland-based HMD Global, which owns the Nokia brand now, aims to tap opportunities in China, the world’s biggest smartphone market.

Nokia, which used to be the No. 1 handset brand globally a decade ago, sold its smartphone business to Microsoft, which then sold the brand to HMD Global last year.
