U.S. crude oil production decreased during the week ending July 19, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Wednesday.
According to the EIA, U.S. crude oil production averaged 11.3 million barrels per day last week, down by 700,000 barrels per day from the previous week. This was the second weekly decrease after rise for two consecutive weeks.
In its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook released earlier this month, the EIA forecasted that the annual U.S. crude oil production will average 12.4 million barrels per day in 2019 and 13.3 million barrels per day in 2020, with most of the growth coming from the Permian region of Texas and New Mexico.
