China's Hunan posts 7.8 pct GDP growth in 2021

The gross domestic product (GDP) of central China's Hunan Province totaled 4.58 trillion yuan (about 720.1 billion U.S. dollars) in 2021, up 7.8 percent year on year, local authorities said Monday.
The province's average GDP growth of the past two years reached 5.8 percent, above the national average of 5.1 percent, according to a government work report delivered at the ongoing fifth session of the 13th Hunan Provincial People's Congress.
The report noted a stable trend in the province's economic development, with year-on-year growth in investment, consumption and foreign trade in 2021 hitting 8 percent, 14.4 percent, and 22.6 percent respectively.
The province aims to achieve economic growth of more than 6.5 percent in 2022.
