Tie-up to lure female game users

GIANT Game has partnered fashion brand NPC as the Shanghai-based game firm seeks cross-industry cooperation to target young users including female players.

Giant, which has 300 million registered users, and NPC launched a limited edition clothes for the Battle of Balls at the weekend, a game targeting young players. The game helps Giant to transform its business to mobile and e-sport, analysts said.

In the first half, Giant posted a net profit of 697 million yuan (US$100 million), up 40 percent year on year and higher than expectations. Revenue jumped 33.6 percent to 1.40 billion yuan in the period.

Shenzhen-listed Giant has also cooperated with beverage makers and banks.
