Mongolia's GDP up 5.1 pct in 2019

Mongolia's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 5.1 percent year on year in 2019, according to preliminary data released by the country's National Statistics Office on Monday.

The Mongolian economy amounted to 19 trillion Mongolian tugriks (6.9 billion U.S. dollars) in 2019, an increase of 923.8 billion Mongolian tugriks (335 million dollars) compared to the previous year.

The increase was mainly due to the expansion of the services sector by 5.8 percent and the agriculture sector by 8.4 percent, the statistical agency said.
