China's excavator exports soar in January-April

China's major excavator manufacturers reported a sharp increase in exports in the first four months of the year, industry data showed.
In the January-April period, exports of China's 26 major excavator makers surged 78.9 percent year on year to 33,791 units, data from the China Construction Machinery Association showed.
Domestic sales of the equipment slumped 56.1 percent from the previous year to 67,918 units during the period, the data showed.
In April, excavator exports came in at 8,502 units, jumping 55.2 percent year on year, while domestic sales of excavators declined 61 percent from a year ago to 16,032 units.
