Macao's gaming revenue up 17.1 pct in August

Macao's gaming industry revenue increased 17.1 percent year-on-year to 26.56 billion patacas (about 3.29 billion U.S. dollars) in August, the special administrative region's gaming industry watchdog said on Sunday.

Macao's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau said in its latest report that the eighth month of this year kept witnessing the industry's double-digit growth rate since March and August's revenue was higher than that of July, as the increase rate recorded 22.2 percent in March, 27.6 percent in April, 12.1 percent in May, and 12.5 percent in June, and 10.3 percent in July.

The accumulated revenue in 2018 has reached 202.10 billion patacas (about 25.01 billion U.S. dollars), 17.5 percent higher than the same period of 2017.
