China Everbright Bank's retail clients top 100 mln

China Everbright Bank (CEB) saw the number of its retail clients surpass 100 million, according to the bank.
By June, deposits from CEB's retail clients reached about 694.56 billion yuan (about 98.2 billion U.S. dollars), up 16.73 percent or about 99.53 billion yuan than the end of 2018.
The bank's retail business generated about 27.04 billion yuan in operating income, increasing 5.428 billion yuan over the same period last year.
The national joint-stock commercial bank has stepped up investment in online services via partnerships with internet platforms like Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent in recent years. The bank has gained some 11.98 million clients through online platforms.
