Majority of listed firms report higher net profits in H1

More than 70 percent of listed firms that have released semi-annual results as of Tuesday posted year-on-year growth in net profits, the Securities Times reported.

Among 262 listed companies that have published financial data for the first half of the year, 193 saw rises in net profits from a year earlier, while 69 saw declines, according to data compiled by the newspaper.

In terms of operating revenue, 217 companies posted year-on-year increases while 45 reported lower revenue.

Altogether 181 companies realized gains both in net profits and operating revenue, while 33 recorded drops in both. Of the total, 55 companies saw their net profits at least double from a year earlier.
