Tourists to Israel increase by 17 pct in Jan.-July period

Number of tourists to Israel increased by 17 percent from Jan. to July this year, compared to the same period in 2017, according to data from Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics published on Thursday.

A total of 2.5 million visitors entered Israel in the Jan. to July period this year. In comparison, approximately 2.13 million visitors came in the same period in 2017.

The data also showed that from May to July, 2018, there was an average of 317,000 tourist arrivals per month, compared with 349,000 from Feb. to April.
