Commercial vehicles sales witness sharp drop in India

Indian automobile company, Ashok Leyland, has witnessed a 70 percent drop in medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles (M&HCVs) truck sales in the domestic market during the month of August, according to an official statement.
Truck manufacturer Ashok Leyland reported that the company sold 3,336 units in August as against 11,135 units a year ago.
The domestic sales of total M&HCV, including buses, fell by 63 percent in August, whereas total vehicle sales were dropped by 50 percent with 8,296 units sold in August as against 16,628 units in August 2018.
Ashok Leyland is an Indian automobile company which is owned by the Hinduja Group. It is one of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in India.
