Intel promotes Tara Smith to chief communications officer

Intel Corporation on Tuesday announced the promotion of Tara Smith, vice president of technology communications, to chief communications officer, vice president and general manager of the Global Communications Group.
Smith will oversee Intel's global communications organization, promoting the company's brand through strategic corporate, technology and employee communications around the world.
According to Intel, Smith has spent more than 20 years overseeing strategic communications programs for technology companies. Most recently she led technology communications as part of Intel's Global Communications Group, where she was responsible for driving recognition of the company's technology and product leadership.
"Now more than ever, communications play a critical role as we spotlight the technology leadership and greater purpose Intel is advancing along with our partners and customers," Smith said on the appointment.
