Xiaomi goes smart

XIAOMI Corp is establishing a smart home eco-system with upgraded operating system and artificial intelligence-featured devices, covering smartphone, smart TV and an Echo-like speaker to be available later this month, the company said yesterday in Shanghai.

In the second quarter, Xiaomi sold 23.1 million smartphones globally, the first time it has generated sales of over 20 million units in a quarter. It has also sold 60 million smart devices like TV, router, air purifier, monitor, which all feature web-linked functions.
