70% of A-share firms profitable

SEVENTY percent of A-share companies saw a strong growth in net profit and nearly half achieved higher returns on equity, their semi-annual reports said.

By yesterday 3,343 A-share companies had released their semi-annual reports which showed their total revenue rose 21.8 percent while they achieved a year-on-year growth of 17.92 percent in net profit in the first half of 2017. Among them, 70 percent of the companies saw a growth in net profit.
