China's Q1 GDP grows 6.9%

CHINA'S Q1 GDP grows 6.9 percent and retail sales grew 10 percent year on year in the first quarter of the year, official data showed Monday.

In March, the total sales of consumer goods rose 10.9 percent year on year, 1.4 percentage points faster than the first two months, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

China's value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, expanded 6.8 percent year on year in the first quarter this year, compared with the 6.3-percent increase for Jan.-Feb., official data showed Monday.
