S.Korea's export tops 50 bln USD for 4 months to August

South Korea's export topped 50 billion U.S. dollars for four straight months to August, a government report showed Saturday.

Export, which accounts for about half of the export-driven economy, gained 8.7 percent from a year earlier to 51.2 billion dollars in August, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

It was the biggest-ever August figure, surpassing 50 billion dollars for four months in a row.
