Belarusian gold and foreign currency reserves amounted to 7.9 billion U.S. dollars as of June 1, the country's central bank said Friday.
In May, gold and foreign currency reserves decreased by 3.7 million dollars, or 0.05 percent, after an increase of 96.4 million dollars in April, or 1.2 percent, the regulator said.
In 2019, the country's gold and foreign exchange reserves grew by 2.2 billion dollars, or 31 percent, to a record 9.4 billion dollars.
Belarusian authorities predict the volume of gold and foreign currency reserves should reach at least 7.3 billion dollars as of Jan. 1, 2021.
