Yueyang (simplified Chinese:  traditional Chinese:  pinyin:  Wade-Giles: Postal map spelling: Yochow) is a prefecture-level city in the Hunan province of China, on the shores of Dongting Lake.

The Yueyang metropolitan area occupies 5,799 sq. mi. and the city proper occupies 318 sq. mi. The population is 5,100,000.
