Sixteen Ports along Yangtse River Delta III

Huzhou Port

 

In 2004, registered ships of Huzhou Port completed 72.69 million tons of cargo transportation and more than 11.366 billion ton-kilometers of cargo turnover, accounting for 35% and 46% of the provincial inland river transportation volume. Inland river ports in Huzhou City Completed 87.09 million tons of cargo throughput in 2004, of which 71.95 million tons of cargo was transported outside. The Huzhou Port completed 33.24 million tons, and 31.36 million tons of which being transported outside. Now, Huzhou Port has become the second largest inland river port in Zhejiang Province, listing number seven in China’s ten major inland river ports.


Taizhou Port

 

Taizhou Port currently has seven 10 thousand-ton berths as well as special dock for container, petroleum, asphalt and liquid gas each for one. The production storehouse area is 270 thousand square meters, of which 13 thousand square meters for container stock. Taizhou Port, being the first port of Yangtse River into “B level” navigation area, can provide berth for 50 thousand-ton seacrafts all year round. In 2004, cargo throughput completed by Taizhou City was 28.476 million tons and container throughput about 23.8 thousand standard containers, up 36% and 42% over the same time last year.  


Nantong Port

 

Nantong port now has 23 of public operational berths above thousand-ton level, of which ten being above 10 thousand-ton berth. The largest berth capacity is 50 thousand-ton, and the checked yearly transportation capacity is 15.96 million tons. Yards for cargo piling is 340 thousand square meters and transit godown area being 24 thousand meters. In 2004, Nantong Port completed 70 million tons of cargo throughputs, the highest record in its one hundred years’ history. Statistical data of the Nantong Maritime Affairs Bureau showed that more than 100 ships passed in and out of the port, rising 47.3% year-on-year, and 3936 ships have taken international navigation lines, up 27% over the same time last year.  

 

Zhenjiang Port

 

Zhenjiang Port is one of the main hinge ports in Yangtse River of China. By the end of 2003, among 152 berths under the jurisdiction of Zhenjiang Port, there were 109 public berths and 43 shipper berths. And up to Nov.26, 2004, Zhenjiang Port completed 40.013 million tons of cargo throughputs, the first time to break 40 million tons of cargo throughputs, and realized its historical stride.
