Nanjing Port

 

Being one of the ten biggest ports and the first inland river port in China, Nanjing Port has 14 of 10 thousand-ton berth, 51 of thousand-ton berth, and owning the largest foreign trade, crude oil and coal port area. In 2003, cargo throughput in Nanjing Port reached more than 66 million tons, and became China’s first inland river port. Crude oil, coal, foreign trade and container transportation lead a very important role in the port.

 

Hanzhou Port

 

Hanzhou Port, one of the 23 main inland river hinge ports, is the main component of port group in Yangtse River Delta. The total coastline is 62.70 kilometers. Upon its 30.96 square kilometers of total area, there are 15.46 square kilometers of water area and 15.50 square kilometers of land area.

In 2003, the port accomplished 28.2826 million tons of cargo throughputs. New development layout of Hanzhou Port has also been appraised by related experts. By 2020, the port will invest RMB4.791billion to build the most modern inland river port in China, and the throughput will amount to 81million tons when the construction project being completed. 

 

Shaoxing Port

 

Shaoxing port is one of the “ten lines and five ports” construction project in Zhejiang Province’s tenth “five-year plan”, and the only existing comprehensive port area in Shaoxing City. The planed 500 tons of dock is a 28 berths construction with 3.95 million tons of yearly designed throughput. Construction plan will be fulfilled by stages once the layout was conducted in one time. Of which, the first stage is to build 18 berths with 2.10 million tons of yearly throughput. The total investment is RMB395 million, of which RMB 259 million will be invested on the first stage. And it is also planed to attract foreign capital more than 50% of the total investment. 

 

Ningbo Port

 

Ningbo Port now has 191 of operational berths, of which 39 berths being 10 thousand-ton and deep-water berth. The largest berths are the 250 thousand-ton of crude oil dock, the 200 thousand-ton of mineral unloading dock (or even can offer berth for 300 thousand-ton of ships), the special berth for the sixth generation of international container, and the special 50 thousand-ton berth for liquid chemical products. By now, the port has opened navigation traffic with more than 600 ports in more than 100 countries in the world.

In 2004, cargo throughput of the port reached 220 million tons, rising 22% over the previous year, and becoming the second largest port (after Shanghai Port) in China mainland. Container throughput broke 4 million standard containers, listing the fourth port in China mainland, up 44.5% year-on-year. It has become the number one port in china mainland’s main container transportation port for the last six years.
