Yingkou Port, situated in Liaodong Bay in the east of Bohai Gulf, is an international seaport in Yingkou of Liaoning province. It is the second-largest port in northeast China and the tenth-largest nationwide.

Yingkou Port is composed of two port areas: the old port area in Yingkou at the mouth of the Liao River and Bayuquan port located directly on Liaodong Bay on the Bohai Sea.

The port is a major import facility for northeastern China and parts of Mongolia with an annual trade volume of more than 21 million tonnes through 27 shipping berths. Principal port activities include grain, coal, steel and minerals, and vehicle imports. The port also handles up to 250,000 containers per year.

The water area of the port is 113.02 million square meters, the land area is 4.136 million square meters, and the total length of berth is 4094 meter in extension. Bayuquan port has 8Km coastline, with deep water and small wave, no silt and no freeze, open up navigation in four seasons, is one of fine port with deep water in north of China. Yingkou Port is connected with Shenda express way, Hada highway and Changda railway. Bayuquan port is 4.2km far from Shenda express way, 9km far from Changda railway, 210km far to Shenyang in North and 190km far to Dalian in south.

Presently, Yingkou port has 7 berths for coal handling, with one special coal dock that boasts berthing capacity of 30,000 tonnes and one ore dock for capsize vessels. The rest five berths could handle vessels of 10,000-15,000 tonnes.

Yingkou port handled 4.39 million tonnes of coal in the first 11 months this year, growing 37.4% or 1.20 million tonnes year on year.

Following 2007 when the throughput topped 100 million tons, Yingkou Port had a container throughput in 2008 48.50% higher and cargo throughput by 23.60%, with the transportation volume of container for domestic trade, imported ores, steel and non-metal mineral products in 2008 were at top of the ports in Northeast China. The port moves forward on bonded supervision, and the number of liner shipping routes increases, giving the port more strength on freight. In 2008, the port added 110 more large equipments, at the top of the coastal ports in China. Till the end of 2008, the port had a total asset of RMB 36.0 billion, and had an income of RMB 4.3 billion. The port has cut the capital costs, and improved the capital efficiency, lifting the competitive ability. The strategic cooperation with large companies diversifies the investor structure. 300,000 tons crude oil berth project in Xianrendao Port was completed. Yingkou Port will be an important exit for Shenyang Area and an important part of Northeast Asia Shipping Center.
